Prica & Partners hosted a seminar for the representatives of Swiss-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SSCC) member firms.

The event took place at the Holiday Inn Express hotel and on this occasion our associates Jelena Živanović and Iva Popović gave a presentation on the Law on protection of Whistleblowers and the Law on Personal Data Protection.

Presentation on the Protection of Whistleblowers was structured around the topics such as: definition and types of whistleblowing; right to protection and employer’s obligations; procedure of internal alerting; external alerting and alerting of the public; compensation of damages and court protection; penalty provisions.

Personal Data Protection presentation encompassed the following issues: legal framework; basic terms and definitions; conditions for personal data processing; data subjects and their protection; obligations of the data controller; export of personal data from Serbia; penalty provisions.

Discussion on many practical issues (e.g. the requirement for employers with 10 or more employees to pass general corporate rules governing the whistleblowing procedure by December, 5, 2015) followed the presentation.
