Annual Congress of International League of Competition Law (LIDC), September 18-21, 2014
Darija Ognjenovic, partner, the head of our Competition Practice and a member of LIDC attended this congress which took place in Turin, Italy.
The event was hosted by the Italian Group in co-operation with the colleagues from the LIDC Council. The program focused on hot topics of competition law and was introduced and discussed by reputable specialists in the field – in the form of sessions and panel discussions.
The main questions discussed: Are settlement processes, leniency, transactions, commitments and other type of transactional resolution of antitrust proceedings, consistent and compatible with due process and fundamental rights of the parties? To what extent does the principle of exhaustion of IP rights apply to the on-line industry?
Amongst a number of the congress attendees from many European countries there were also participants from as far afield as Australia, Japan, Brasil and the U.S.A.
